Community Gardens in the Kanawha Valley

I was browsing the web and stumbled across this neat site. Its called "The West Virginia Food & Farm Coalition". The site has a lot of good information but the article that I thought to be the must interesting is about all the "Community Garden's" in the Kanawha Valley and about the "Kanawha Community Garden Association". It is wonderful to see so many communities starting up there own community gardens for people to use. For example there are community gardens in Dunbar, Spring Hill and other West Virginia towns. If you don't have one in your city maybe you should start one.

  1. Every community should have at least one community garden. Not only does this help families save money on the grocery bills but it's also a wonderful learing experience for our children to learn how to plant and grow things. Not to mention this is a wonderful way for neighbors to get to know each other a litlte better. Our towns have gone from a friendly front porch swing atmosphere to a back patio behind the privacy fence atmosphere where nobody interacts with their neighbors like they used to.

  2. I agree, maybe we should talk to our Mayor about starting one!!!!!
